LaTrice Currie was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Her dad is a retired high school principal and her late mom was an elementary school teacher.  Reading was always a big part of her life and something she enjoyed doing.  You could always find plenty of books around the family home and going to the library was something LaTrice enjoyed. Latrice has one older brother.

LaTrice grew up in the church where her grandfather was her first pastor.  She was active in high school clubs and enjoyed drama and speech along with activities including serving on the student council and cheerleading.  After graduating from high school LaTrice went on to Hampton University where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.  She later went on to get her graduate degree from Regent University where she graduated with honors.

LaTrice pursued her love of journalism with her first job in Jackson, Tennessee.  Shortly afterward she moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where she had not planned on staying, but got involved in the community, started a family and made it home.  LaTrice is an award-winning journalist who would go on to serve on a number of boards, be very active as a community and health advocate, entrenched in her community, along with her social and civic engagement in a number of organizations.  LaTrice feels there is always more work to be done.  Her job is far from finished.
